Root Canal

  1. Wait a few hours for the anesthesia to wear off before eating. Eat very soft foods, and chew lightly.

  2. Avoid chewing or biting down on the root canal.

  3. If you were prescribed antibiotics, make sure to take the antibiotics for the full duration prescribed.

  4. Make sure to floss and brush your teeth twice a day to avoid infection.

  5. If you're experiencing mild pain, use over-the-counter pain medication (i.e. aspirin, ibuprofen, acetaminophen, etc...)

  6. If you experience extreme pain, inflammation, or discomfort even after taking over-the-counter medication, call your dentist.

  7. Return for a follow-up examination to ensure that your root canal is healing properly.
